After week 16, the Chicago Bears currently sit at the 7th overall pick in 2015’s NFL draft which will be held in Chicago. If the Bears lose against Minnesota in week 17, they will keep that spot, but a win could potentially bump them to the 12th pick.
Last year, Tampa Bay selected WR Mike Evans with the 7th pick. Other notable picks at 7th overall include; Aldon Smith, Joe Haden, Adrian Peterson, Champ Bailey, along with former Bears’ Curtis Conway, Roy Williams, Sedrick Ellis, and Thomas Jones. Conway was the only one of the four drafted by Chicago.
Looking at NFL Draft Trade Value Charts, a Bears’ win Sunday would drop them 4-5 spots. If they stayed at 7th overall and traded back 4-5 spots, they would likely acquire an extra 3rd and 4th round pick, or a late 2nd rounder.
Most mock drafts have the Bears taking defensive players like Alabama safety Landon Collins, Missouri defensive end Shane Ray, or Washington LB Shaq Thompson. But with many changes likely coming for Bears coaching staff, management, and players, many directions could be taken when Bears turn in their pick on April 30th at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, IL.
